Bona Fide Bellevue Gardens
Bona Fide Bellevue sponsors two herb gardens and an allotment-style community garden to help combat food insecurity and increase access to fresh produce, flowers, and herbs for members of our community and surrounding areas. These natural spaces also provide habitat for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.
Herb Gardens
The herb gardens, located on the grounds of Bayne Library and the Lutheran Service Society’s Prime Time Senior Center on Lincoln Avenue, are community-tended gardens for all to enjoy! We encourage folks to pick what they need from these two gardens throughout the year.
Bellevue Friendship Garden
The Bellevue Friendship Garden is an organic, allotment-style community garden located at 616 Cliff Avenue. Available beds are offered on an application basis each year and folks can sign up for a compost membership anytime. Compost members are not bed holders, but they can add their kitchen scraps and/or other acceptable material to the compost bins and have access to finished compost. In addition to individual garden and compost memberships that are available for a seasonal fee, the garden includes “community share” beds or spaces. These are community-tended spaces with vegetables, herbs and flowers for all to enjoy! We encourage folks to pick what they need from these signed spaces throughout the year.
