The Bellevue Code Office is responsible for handling all property (residential and commercial) matters, including:

The Borough has adopted the 2015 ICC codes per Ordinance 18-09. To access the International Code Council (ICC) web site - Click here. The International Property Maintenance Code governs the conditions and maintenance of property and buildings in the Borough. In addition, the International Building Code governs all new construction, additions, and renovations.
Prior to occupying any building or structure, an occupancy permit shall be obtained from our code office. It is illegal to occupy any building or structure without a current occupancy permit. If unsure as to whether or not an occupancy permit was ever issued for a building or structure, contact our office for assistance.
Any repair, alteration, change of occupancy, addition or relocation of an existing building shall comply with the International Existing Building Code.
Anyone who intends to repair, add to, alter, relocate, demolish, or change the occupancy of a building or alter, remove, convert, or replace any electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing system shall first obtain a permit from the code office. If unsure as to whether or not a permit is required, contact our office for assistance.

Notable Borough Ordinances:

Properties shall be maintained free from weeds and grass in excess of 6 inches.

Permitted pickup and removal times of garbage and recyclable containers
-
Unregistered or Un-Inspected vehicles cannot be stored on premises.

Trees cannot hang lower than nine feet above sidewalks and driveways.

Address numbers with a 4 inch minimum stroke must appear on all structures.

Snow and ice must be removed from sidewalks within 24 hours after a snowfall - Ord. 10-06.

Broken, cracked, sunken, or missing sidewalk slabs must be repaired or replaced.
